DO YOU COMPETE? IF SO, WHAT CATEGORIES DO YOU COMPETE IN?

We do about four competitions a year. This usually includes Ashwaubenon, and WACPC State as well as around two or three other smaller ones such as Sheboygan Falls or Hortonville.

WHAT DOES YOUR PRACTICE SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE?

We typically practice 2-3 times a week for about 2 hours in the evenings so it doesn't conflict with class schedules. Practices are usually Mondays, Wednesdays and every other Sunday during the competition season.

DOES YOUR PROGRAM DO MANDATORY WORKOUTS OR IS IT INCORPORATED INTO YOUR PRACTICE SCHEDULE?

We start practices with a team warmup which usually includes some sort of exercise focus such as abs or thigh strength.

ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL EXPENSES ON THE STUDENT ATHLETE TO BE PART OF YOUR PROGRAM OR IS IT TAKEN CARE OF BY THE UNIVERSITY?

The cost of the team is 50$ which covers your competition shoes that you get to keep. All other expenses such as costumes, and competition admission are covered by the University. We also do various fundraisers throughout the year!

WHAT IS YOUR AUDITION PROCESS/REQUIREMENTS?

Our tryouts are the second week of the school year. They are 3 days long in the evening for about 2 hours each. The first day we learn a short tryout routine as a large group. The second day we go over tricks and you have the opportunity to practice any tricks or continue to clean the dance. Tricks are not mandatory, there are lots of girls on the team who are not strong in tricks! What we look for the most is a positive and coachable attitude, someone who looks like they love to dance! The third day we have people tryout in front of the four captains in small groups performing the routine twice as well as showing any tricks they have.

WHAT SPORTS/ACTIVITIES DO YOU PERFORM AT?

We perform at basketball games, a HERD game, and around 4 competitions a year.

ANYTHING ELSE

We are a student run organization so we don't have a typical "coach" like most teams are used to. The four captains usually run the practices but because we are student run the team dynamic is amazing. We are all like a small family and we have fun doing what we all love, which is to dance, while still pushing everyone to be the best and most competitive we can be.
